Friday Night Funkin’
Friday Night Funkin’ (FNF) is a widely influential rhythm music game originally released as a Newgrounds jam title in 2020. It blends fast-paced note timing with colorful characters, catchy original songs, and a quirky cartoon aesthetic that recalls classic rhythm titles like Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper.
FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN’ – RHYTHM RAP BATTLES & MUSIC PROGRESSION
At the heart of FNF is a series of rap battles where players control Boyfriend — a young aspiring rapper determined to win his Girlfriend’s heart through music. Each battle is structured in Weeks, with each week containing multiple songs and a unique opponent. During a song, arrows representing notes scroll up the screen, and players must press the correct keys in time with the music to mirror their opponent’s patterns. Hitting notes accurately earns progress, while missed notes boost the opponent’s advantage and can lead to defeat.
