Getting Over It

Getting Over It

Getting Over It is a minimalist but punishing physics platformer in which players control a man trapped in a metal pot, using only a hammer to climb a mountain made of household debris, rocks, and random objects.

GETTING OVER IT – BRUTALLY HONEST PHYSICS CLIMBING CHALLENGE

In Getting Over It, every movement is determined by physics and player input. The game offers no checkpoints or hints — one mistake can send you tumbling back down, and progress must be earned through skill and perseverance. The control scheme relies on the mouse or trackpad to rotate and swing the hammer, letting you pull, push, and vault over obstacles.

Game Controls

  • Mouse: Click and drag to swing and rotate the hammer
  • Hold Input: Build momentum and adjust positioning
  • Release: Let go to reset and plan the next move

Why Getting Over It Is Addictive

  • Pure Physics Challenge: Precise timing and momentum are essential.
  • No Checkpoints: Every slip can erase hard-earned progress.
  • Narrator Commentary: Bennett Foddy’s philosophical voiceovers reflect on failure and persistence.
  • Emotional Arc: The game teaches patience, resilience, and controlled focus.
